About the walk
This walk leaves Melrose past the Abbey and along the middle path to Newstead, up the lane and on to the Bogle Burn by the Rhymer’s Stane. It continues through the pleasant woodland of Eildon Hall Estate and over the common to Bowden. After a tour of the village and the quaint Kirk, there will be a refreshment stop at the Old School tearoom. The return route skirts the lower slopes of the Eildon Hills to the Swan Pond, coming back to Melrose by the Wester Road.
