About the walk
This is a stroll along the Tweed to Newstead then to Leaderfoot Viaduct. Continuing partly on metalled road before taking a gentle climb to the slopes above Gattonside with views up and down the Tweed and across to Melrose. Return is by part of the Southern Upland Way, banks of the Tweed and Chain Bridge to Melrose.
