About the walk
The walk goes up past the golf course and on to Ladhope Moor with extensive views opening up over Melrose, the Eildons and south to the Cheviots. Dropping off the hill the route joins an old track from Glendearg to Hawksnest and passes close to the site of several Border towers or fortified houses at Langshaw. The route eventually joins a minor road leading to Wooplaw Woods, an area of Community Woodland. Lunch will be taken here before a guided walk will reveal the regeneration of native species and much else taking place in this very active Community Woodland.
