Melrose Rugby Football Club
Nawaka cruised into the final of their first Melrose Sevens with a comfortable victory over South Africanís Stellenbosch. The Fijians held a comfortable 19-7 lead at the interval, having scored three tries. First Vula went over for the try converted by Ligairi, and then Naevo touchdown, but the Fijians failed to convert.
Stellenbosch responded with a try from Wemar Raats, which Willem De Wall converted to put the South Africans back in the tie.
However, Nawaka extended their lead before the break, with Driu showing a dummy before going over, and Ligairi converted. Nawaka ran away with the tie in the second half with tries from Vula, Matanitobua and Ligairi, who converted all three.
Stellenbosch scored a consolation try through Nicolas Alberts in the last minute.
