Appointment Night

The appointment of the Millennium Melrosian, and the traditional three times round Mercat cross for the newly appointed Melrosian

Greig Anderson, Millennium Melrosian

Melrosian for the year 2000 is 25 year old Greig Anderson. Greig has been in Melrose all his life, attending Melrose Grammar School and Earlston High School.

Fancy Dres Parade, Gibson Park, 6:15pm
Disco for Fancy Dress Participants, at the Greenyards, after parade.
Thursday 22nd June
Installation of Melrosian and Crowning of Festival Queen, Melrose Abbey, 7pm
Ex Melrosians Association Dinner, George and Abbotsford Hotel, 9pm
Friday 23rd June
Visits to Hospitals, homes and Schools by the Melrosian
Festival Ball, St Mary's School Grounds, 7:30 for eight pm.
Saturday 24th June
Tour of Ceremonies, Starts in Market Square, 9am
Sports and Picnic, Gibson Park, 2:30pm
Pipe Band in Market Square, 8pm
Conclusion of Festivities, Melrose Rugby Football Club, 10pm
Sunday 25th June
Cricket Club Festival Sixes, Huntleyburn, 11am
