Welcome to the Melrose and District Community Council
The main role of the community council is to represent our local area, to consult with local residents and pass your views on to public sector organisations such as Scottish Borders Council and NHS Borders.
Scottish Borders Council has a responsibility to consult with community councils about how local services are delivered and inform us of any changes to services or any issues that may affect our local area.
Councillors attend our local community council meetings: providing a good link between the Council and the community. And any member of the public is very welcome to attend our meetings too.
Each community council is also a member of the Scottish Borders Community Councils' Network (SBCCN) which organises an annual conference, seminars to discuss areas of concern and training.
