Once again the Melrose Traders Association hosted an extremely successful festive evening in the town. Several hundred people sang carols under the Christmas tree in Melrose Market Square.

Many enjoyed sustainance in the form of mulled wine and mince pies to help keep out the seasonally cold winds. This was followed by free entertainment in the form of Peter Pepper, the succssful local magicial and entertainer. During the entertainmnet, mothers and fathers retired to the barious excellent hostelries in the centre of the town.

The quote of the week came from Nick Henderson, manager of the local Burts Hotel who said "It was great for trade. Could we not have this event on a monthly basis?". One of the committee then pointed out to Mr Henderson that Christmas is generally celebrated once per anum!
