CCTV Project Nears Completion

Melrose Traders Association Chairman receiving a cheque from Lothian and Borders Co-operative Society for the Melrose CCTV fund.

Melrose are looking forward to the "switching on" of their CCTV system. The five cameras are to be sighted in appropriate vantage points in the town, giving total coverage of the town's centre. Douglas Hardie, Chairman of Melrose Traders Association stated "Although not quite there yet, our fund is nearing its goal".

A great deal of effort has been put in and we are indebted to Provost George Bunyan, SBC Councillor Bill Smith, the local police and Scottish Borders Council for their help and guidance. Once installed the system will have a variety of uses including security and traffic management.
